This has to be the greatest Christmas special the best rock band in the country. I feel like I've just seen Santa's sleigh being pulled by a bunch of unicorns...or something. Seriously, this is awesome.

One WMBR Music Director's Best 30 Records of 2013

Dear all,

Well, we're at the close of another great year in music. Below, in alphabetical order, are the 30 pieces of music that really got to me this past year. I don't really have a favorite, per se, but if you made me pick I think I would choose the Moondoggies' Adios, I'm a Ghost. I have a real soft spot for bands that know who and what they are and simply play good, old fashioned rock and roll without the bullshit. Glossary is that kind of band and so are the Moondoggies, especially on this record. I'd love to hear what you think, what I've missed, and what you think I got wrong in the comments. Well, that's not true. I'd like to hear from everyone except my co-music director, Patrick Bryant. I have a general idea what he thinks. :-)

As always if you are curious about any of this music please support the artists and don't download them for free from the interwebs. Go buy 'em so they can keep on keepin' on.

Here's to 2014!

Happy holidays,

Christopher, Co-Music Director, WMBR, 88.1 fm

Our Father,
Who art in Hendon
Harrow Road be Thy name
Thy Kingston come
Thy Wimbledon
In Erith as it is in Hendon.
Give us this day our Berkhampstead
And forgive us our Westminsters
As we forgive those who Westminster against us.
Lead us not into Temple Station
And deliver us from Ealing,
For thine is the Kingston
The Purley and the Crawley,
For Iver and Iver

Charles Bradley returns!

The Screaming Eagle of Soul
There are very few soul survivors as inspiring as Charles Bradley. He finally found success in his 60s and is on the verge of releasing his 2nd album, Victim of Love, on April 2nd. How inspiring you ask? Well check out the trailer of the documentary a filmmaker made about him:

His website is here.

If you listen to the show and live in the Cambridge/Boston area, you can see him live on May 18th at Paradise Rock Club. Here's how you get tickets. (Yes, Ticketmaster sucks.)

Here is a one sheet from his promoter with all kindsa information you might be interested in.

If I am able to get an advance copy from the label I will, of course, spin it for the regular Thursday Lost & Found listeners but as of right now all I have is the single to spin. Wah, wah.

See you next Thursday.
